Cummings Speaks at Bipartisan Summit on Criminal Justice Reform

 

Baltimore, MD (Mar. 25 2015) – TOMORROW Congressman Elijah E. Cummings (MD-07) will speak at a Bipartisan Summit on Criminal Justice Reform sponsored by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Pew Charitable Trusts, American Civil Liberties Union, Koch Industries, Families Against Mandatory Minimums, Coalition for Public Safety and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

The Summit will gather state and federal lawmakers and criminal justice leaders, along with representatives from the private sector, law enforcement, and impacted communities to discuss bipartisan criminal justice reform efforts that have been implemented across the country.  These efforts have led to reduced incarceration, lower costs and better public safety outcomes. The Summit will provide an opportunity to highlight these reforms and other innovative practices, and to discuss more solutions moving forward. More than 600 people are expected to attend.
